Primary Election 2020

March 17, 2020

Per Orders by the Ohio Department of Health, Ohio Governor, and the Ohio Secretary of State,

in-person voting on March 17, 2020 was POSTPONED! 

New Date is April 28, 2020

There will be NO regular in person voting.

As directed by the Ohio Legislature via House Bill 197, we are accepting Applications for Absentee Ballots BY MAIL for Primary Election 2020.

Application Deadline is NOON on April 25, 2020

All ballots MUST be POSTMARKED by April 27, 2020

Applications are available online at www.WayneCountyOH.gov and can be mailed to:

We have set up a pickup station for Absentee Ballot Applications in our lobby at 200 Vanover Street (upstairs).

If you have already cast a ballot – either in person or by mail – your vote will be counted without any further action needed!

We are asking that the public refrain from coming to our offices as much as possible given the current health restrictions as set forth by the Ohio Department of Health.  However, we are open if personal assistance is necessary.

The following Candidate(s) have OFFICIALLY WITHDRAWN from the ballot in the State of Ohio:     Cory Booker - Democrat

     Others who may have suspended their campaigns did not meet the February 7, 2020 deadline for withdrawal in Ohio and will remain on the ballot.

 So what happens to votes cast for candidates who have suspended their campaigns but remain on the Ohio ballot?

     All votes for candidates appearing on the Ohio Ballot and did not withdraw in Ohio prior to the deadline will be counted.  Delegates will be assigned/reassigned according to the rules of the Political Party prior to or at their National Convention when the Party Nominee is selected.
